warded 16.07.23 - 08:36pm
Another local store asks for 150EUR wow.GIF and they don't even have it in stock. The one i used has around 15 copies left. *

Expensive as hell! I'm going to pick up the digital when on sale. *

warded 18.07.23 - 07:11pm
The final boss (?) of FF1 slaps me around lol *

warded 18.07.23 - 09:14pm

warded 18.07.23 - 09:28pm

trunking 18.07.23 - 10:43pm
Awesome. I won to beat it too! *

warded 19.07.23 - 01:52pm
in FF2 there are areas that can have super strong enemies where you should not go before you are ready. ambulance.GIF *

warded 19.07.23 - 06:51pm
FF2 is kind of a black sheep in the classic series. On NES you could just hit your own team over and over to increase hp and defense. It also has the keyword system that is unique to this game. Also the ''leveling'' is now based on how much you spam everything... It is fairly similar to SaGa games this time. *

warded 20.07.23 - 04:43pm
Sort of like Link's Adventure (The Legend of Zelda 2) ... This game also has lots of experimenting and ideas that did continue and some that did not get used in the next game(s). The keyword system was never seen again for example. *

warded 21.07.23 - 05:52pm
oh, i did not know the core team in FF2 is only 3 people and the 4th one is always a ''guest'' character. *

warded 21.07.23 - 08:51pm
reading2.GIF Reading a FAQ/WT and so far i've been doing most things correctly. *

warded 24.07.23 - 06:38pm
In Final Fantasy II, i found 2 early-game grind spots (Fynn Town and Fynn Castle doorway). After setting things right and using auto-battle, the game practically plays itself. Just need to hit accept and initiate battle. *

warded 24.07.23 - 06:45pm
Also when leveling shields the fist level goes up too. redalert.GIF *

warded 2.08.23 - 07:20pm
Just beat FF2. The last boss is a fight against time. + a bit of luck. You have to do more damage than he drains health from you. He punches you once and does 4000 damage wow.GIF *

warded 5.08.23 - 03:03pm
holysht.GIF a difficulty spike quite early in FF3 *

warded 5.08.23 - 06:58pm
Possibly a false alarm... EDIT: yeah, missed the mini dungeon after which the boss just goes away and is never heard from again. *

warded 12.08.23 - 07:53pm
Beat FF3 yesterday. *

warded 15.08.23 - 07:28pm
Thought there was a difficulty spike in FF4, but it seems i missed a scene which affects what happens after the boss whacks you from here to next tuesday cheesy.GIF *

warded 20.08.23 - 10:56pm
FF4 Done. *

warded 29.08.23 - 03:20pm
Many of the games got some updates yesterday. (also still doing 5) *

warded 17.02.24 - 11:25pm
Skipped 5 for now. Will return to it some day. Doing 6. *

warded 18.02.24 - 09:37pm
Sabin's Blitz is very forgiving. *

warded 19.02.24 - 01:12am
Holy moley! The opera scene has actual vocals. *

warded 19.02.24 - 04:57pm
6 is a tad harder than i remember... Did they rebalance it or something? hmm.GIF Have cleared it on SNES back in the day and on PSOne like 20 years ago too. *

warded 19.02.24 - 05:04pm
Friend had a NTSC to PAL adapter back then. We used Street Fighter II as the PAL game because it required both a PAL game for bypassing the lockout or something and then the actual NTSC game for playing. He also knew people who knew people who had import games. He also bought Chrono Trigger import back when it was relatively new for 80FIM because the case and manual were in very poor shape. The cart was fine and i bet it is one of his prized possessions nowadays lol EDIT: 80FIM is like 14EUR omg.GIF EDIT2: Import games could cost up to 600FIM -new- back then, so it was a very good deal. EDIT3: The cart only -loose- is valued around 200 USD which seems actually kinda low. The price for a sealed copy is counted in thousands though. *

warded 19.02.24 - 05:10pm
While on the subject; knew a guy who had a bootleg Super Famicom and a bootleg version of Super Mario RPG. It looked like a Japanese cart (with english text), but it was most likely the American English version. *

warded 19.02.24 - 05:15pm
And while on the subject on rambling about import games... I had a Sega CD to Mega CD adapter on my Mega Drive (1) + Mega CD (2) and i have games like Lunar 2 Eternal Blue. There was a massive audio sync problem in videos and certain scenes. I recall it was counted in minutes lol *

warded 19.02.24 - 05:49pm
While off-topic again... I cleared ROAD AVENGER on Mega CD on Hard mode in a single sitting when i was like 10 years old. fit.GIF Hard mode = Removal of all visual cues. Basically i memorized the whole game from start to finish. Nowadays i struggle with basic groceries, especially if someone orders something that is not on THE LIST... *
